about

As a cellist and baroque cellist I feel at home in many different musical languages: from Renaissance dances to classical symphonies to contemporary sound explorations.

As a founding member and part of the artistic direction of the award winning ensemble reflektor and the Early Music collective Illtupia I am discovering what is possible alongside high level music making: being creative in all directions, deep friendships among colleagues, letting dreams become ideas, become actions.

After finishing my studies on the modern Cello with Julian Steckel, Thomas Kaufmann and Valentin Radutiu I continued to study Baroque Cello with Jan Freiheit, Thomas Pitt and Lea Rahel Bader and finally in the Netherlands with Lucia Swarts. Many other impulses in the area of Early Music I got from Mieneke van der Velden on the Viola da Gamba, Kate Clark, Christoph Huntgeburth, Kristin v.d. Goltz and from my fantastic colleagues in ensembles I regularly play with - like Holland Baroque, Concerto Copenhagen, Stella Maris, lautten compagney, Gaechinger Cantorey, Wiener Akademie, Orchestra of the 18th Century (NL) and within the experience scheme of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment London.

With my ensemble Himmelhofkappelle we won the 2nd price at the international Berlin-Bach-Competition 2021, which was an intense experience into the incredible world of the Trio Sonata. With I Fiori Selvatici we were in the final of the digital Biagio-Marini-Competition in 2020 and played in the big hall of TivoliVredenburg in 2022.

Often I appear on festivals like the Early Music Festival Utrecht, MA Festival Bruges, London International Festival of Early Music, the Oranjewoud Festival (NL), the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (DE), Sommerliche Musiktage Hitzacker (DE), FELIX! urban of Kölner Philharmonie, PODIUM Festival Esslingen and ensemble reflektors festival ultraBACH.

With a lot of joy I am also experimenting with the possibilities of voice, improvisation and Viola da Gamba. And with Familie Flöz I am regularly part of an international theatre company.
